With 300 meters of waterfront, huge 11 acre  (44,000 sq meters)  property and fun-loving staff, the possibilities are endless.

Our speciality is teaching Kerala spice cooking and organising overnight canoe trips

Canoe Trips

Take our traditional, wooden canoes out for an hour or let us organise a a day trip. Our specialty is  called "The Karimeen Trail", a self-paddled, canoe excursion through lush and narrow canals hidden around Lake Vembanad. Watch the 'real' locals of Kerala, the rice farmers and fishermen living on the banks of the waterways. Some narrow channels on this route are not passable by houseboats and so paddlers will have a unique experience unlike anything else on offer in Kerala

We use traditional wooden, hand-stitched canoe and a well trained guide who can accompany you . We can organise customised trips on request.

Forget the rough beaches of Varkala, enjoy swimming in the tranquil

waters of Lake Vembanad, where the water temperatures are always around 25C.

Cooking Classes

We have regular cooking classes taught by our fabulous cook. Each participant will be taught about spices and using a demonstration  so that they can continue cooking these dishes and more when they get home! Cooking classes of 1.5 hour duration are priced at INR 250 per person for a 4 person group, and you get to eat what you are taught! Please book in advance so arrangements can be made.

Houseboat Bookings

We can assist with booking all types of houseboats. We advise that these are expensive and a better option would be to rent a boat/driver to cruise the backwaters in the daytime for a fraction of the price of houseboats

If you are still interested.........Houseboat booking Cautions, Tips, Advise: If you do book a houseboat, please note:

  • Ask for a map and route (nobody has one because they want to do the exact same route as everyone else and if they show you a map, you may want to deviate from that)
  • Check your crew - due to shortage of staff people are taking on some really rude staff
  • Check cruise timings - to keep fuel expense in check, boats will not cruise more than 4 - 6 hours in the entire 22hr (yes, not 24hr trip)
  • Get on and off as you like - there have been instances where people were parked next to other and the crew would not let them off. Other times they refuse to stop anywhere else (like at my resort...!!)
  • Meals - check what you are goin to be served
  • Water in showers is drawn from the lake
  • Take insect repellent with you
  • If taking an AC houseboat pls check timings that AC will be on. Most houseboats will not turn it on in the morning
  • Bring your own alchohol, mossie cream etc.
