7 reasons to come to Bamboostix, Alleppey!!  www.istay.in

  1.       Special Events

Singing Lesson – Once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from an Opera singer. Secondly, in the end we will make our own video of the joint performance – along the line of Cats http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI1DMZ6J_RM or West Side Story (These are not Operas, not that I’ve seen them but I think just a Musical Performances/Play)!

        2.       Cycling tour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvYumTUeHr0

Cycle through the coastal road between Cochin and Alleppey. Can organise any distance but the entire route is 63km done over 2 days. It is exceptional also because it is completely flat, so no physical fitness required. Tourists have not discovered the beaches yet so they are pristine. Exceptional seafood

        3.       Learn to Swim

Never got a chance cause your mushroom growing village doesn’t have a pool? NO excuse now. At your disposal is the largest lake in Kerala. It is unique as it is only 5ft deep in its entirety (backwater! Not ocean or river). Also, we have for a limited time and English teacher walla who can teach you it... hold your breath... in 3 days!! 3 days would open you up to other adventures that we do here... midnight swimming, floating breakfast and in future at other destinations sailing, scuba diving etc etc.

        4.       Canoe Tour

From the early morning Lotus Tour to full day trips and to overnight canoe trips, we will give you the most unique canoe adventures on the lake.

        5.       Freshest Seafood ever

And in general the best food! We make our own breads, jams, cheeses, pastes and combine these with farm fresh products and you have the finest of Kerala and Italian dishes... people say its the best food they have had on their entire Indian holiday.

        6.       Cooking class

Its the best way to impress a woman and once we teach you that Kerala Porotta... OMG! Add a few pages to your black diary. And all you single girls... you wont be single for long!

        7.       Games

Frog racing, foosball/table soccer, canoe races, commando double brock, chicken (drinking) game... we have it all!

        8.       Chill out

Lots of open spaces and being the only resort on the island, you can choose to just veg out!  Rooms are very nice with comfortable mattresses and rooftop chillout terraces

Christmas Eve party, Alleppey/Alappuzha

Bamboostix is famous for our under-the-stars-cookout with the locals. We have invited 4 farmer/fisherwomen from our neighbourhood to cook the one dish they are famous for. We build traditional charcoal stoves for each one of them and they cook fish that they have caught from the lake, prawns, locally available tapioca, green beens, beetroot etc. We will also have a a buffet table with rotis, rice, salads etc. Our juice bar serves up fresh juices and plays the music. Overall a night to remember and it also supports the locals!

Through the day we will have canoe races, canoe trips, sunset mocktails, lake jumping and cooking classes. And of course fireworks on the lakeside.

Dinner is Rs 500 per person, all you can eat (250 for kids under 12). Book accommodation quickly as we have only a few rooms left! For that, send me an email to: aline (at rate)alt108.com
